Dirk Blackman’s career includes dozens of projects sold to major production companies and studios in Hollywood over the past 25 years. His recent projects include “Deep Blue Sea 3” for Warner Home Entertainment and “Delivered,” a feature-length episode of Hulu’s Into the Dark series, starring Tina Majorino and Natalie Paul.
Previously, Dirk took his love of classic literature and turned it upside down for “Outlander”, a science fiction spin on Beowulf, which starred Jim Caviezel, John Hurt, and Ron Perlman. He co-wrote the 3rd installment of the Underworld series, “Rise of the Lycans” starring Michael Sheen, Rhona Mitra and Bill Nighy.
His current projects include "Savager," a graphic novel he is co-writing with Shannon Eric Denton for Panick Entertainment to be released in March, 2025, and "Shade" a ghost story to be directed by M.J. Bassett.
Hailing from the mean streets of Clinton, New Jersey, Dirk is a graduate of Columbia University and the American Film Institute. He lives in Los Angeles with his wife Christine Purse and twin daughters Kate and Rachel. He spends his free time growing his collection of Silver Age comic books and training Rascal the Rescue Pit.
